Block.One, the company behind the EOS (EOS) blockchain, announced on October 6 that Google Cloud will join the network as one of 21 block producers, should its candidature be approved.


Google Cloud has become an EOS block producer candidate, and its confirmation will be voted on by token holders

Google Cloud will also publish a microsite that will highlight their participation as an elected block producer on the EOS network


Block.One CTO Dan Larimer said that the EOS network would take advantage of Google Cloud’s infrastructure to enhance security and scalability



Startups have been bringing DeFi to EOS in recent weeks, with the EOSfinex DEX launching today on October 8
